Workforce Development

This committee will oversee the promotion of construction careers in our association areas including communication with local schools, Pitt Community College, and East Carolina University. They will be responsible for organizing member communication to encourage participation in local career days, job fairs, making recommendations and giving updates to the board on the Memorial Scholarship program. Their main focus will be the recruitment of future employees in our industry as a part of the main tenets of the organization's mission.

Nominating Committee

The Nominating committee will oversee nominations of association members for local, state, and national HBA awards. The committee will be responsible for educating itself and the membership on the awards on the state level & providing information on submitting applications for the awards. Awards for our local membership will result in the promotion of local builders and the affiliates who support them. The committee will also present the nomination of board members and executive board ladder members for the following year.

Skeet Shoot Committee

Responsible for coordination of the annual “Skeet Shoot” or Sporting Clays Tournament, in addition to financial and logistical oversight of the annual Sporting Clays fundraising event.

Social and Professional Development Committee

The Social and Professional Development Committee will oversee the professional development programming as well as the social event calendar of the organization. This committee will recommend speakers for the Quarterly General Membership Meetings, bi-annual member appreciation socials, and make recommendations on professional development opportunities.

Fall Golf Classic Committee

The Fall Golf Classic committee oversees the organization, advertising, sponsorships, catering, financials, and overall logistics of the fall golf event. Members will also volunteer at the event or provide a substitute if playing in the tournament.

Membership Committee

This committee will be tasked with membership recruitment and retention efforts. Their job will be to strengthen the value of membership to the IBXHBA and be experts on member incentive programs, etc.

Parade of Homes Committee

The Parade of Homes committee oversees the registration process and recruitment of participants in the annual Parade of Homes. Their duties include financial oversight, selecting judges, dinner location, advertisements, recruiting sponsors and volunteers. Committee members will volunteer at the event.

Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament Committee

The Spring Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament committee will oversee the organization, advertising, sponsorships, catering, finances, auction etc, awards, and overall logistics of the tournament. Members will also volunteer at the event or provide a substitute if playing in the tournament. 

Holiday Party Committee

The holiday party committee will oversee the organization, advertising, sponsorships, catering, entertainment, financials, and overall logistics of the party. Members will also volunteer at the event.

Finance Committee

The finance committee will assess our financials as provided by the accountant, attorney, and Executive Officer. Their duty is to oversee financial health through budgeting, monitoring statements, managing reserves, developing financial policies, and advising the board on spending, investments, and risk, ensuring transparency, compliance, and long-term sustainability. They work with the treasurer to implement controls, review audits, and ensure funds are used properly. 

Government Affairs Committee

This committee is responsible for staying up to date on local, regional, state and national government affairs as relevant to our industry. This committee will be responsible for making recommendations for allocating our BUILD PAC funds, supporting local candidates, and advising the Board of Directors on similar matters. 

Professional Women in Building Council

This council is responsible for overseeing the operations of Professional Women in Building (PWB). This council will plan events, as well as manage the finances and organization of the program.
